PROJECT BRIEF

LumOptica is a UK-based R&D consultancy, bringing decades of experience in the optics, laser and infrared domains. They required a promotional video to showcase their extensive processes and lab testing across their website, social media and for an exhibition of like minded professionals in this sector.

THE CHALLENGE

The duration of the video required was to be short in length so that it could be played on a loop at the exhibition, but detailed enough that it showcased the many processes and experimental facilities that LumOptica offer. The filming would also be on location at their Bristol based studios, and so we needed to carefully plan the logistics of filming in laboratory’s and testing rooms.

THE SOLUTION

We decided that we would produce two videos for LumOptica’s purposes. The first video would be produced for lumOptica’s website and social media use and the second video would be for their exhibition screen. We firstly wrote a detailed script and developed a storyboard that highlighted all of their processes. A professional voice over would be used to voice the script and educate the viewer of the design, development, build and testing processes. We would also combine live footage with animation to explain how the lasers are used and the varying components that affect them.
